The inaugural FCR Truck Race at Eddie’s Slot Car World was a smashing success!
Four racers had the right stuff for the first of, what will likely be, many FCR truck races. Some racers used existing cars with a body swap while others came fully prepared with purpose built machines. All cars were well prepared and ready to rub.
Leading into the first turn was Tom Joseph followed by Sam Rock, Durl (Vance) and Randy Tragni.
Tom was to set the pace for the entire race while others farther back swapped positions. Through the first heat Randy was at the back, later it was Sam it just depended on who got nerfed the most. The switchback seemed to be the action spot for these cars though the lead on to the main straight was the place of choice for nerfing.
At the checkered flag it was Tom, Randy, Sam and Durl.
Tom took the win with 231 laps and a fast lap of 5.871 on orange.
Randy in second with 225 laps and his fastest lap of 5.992 on green
Sam in third with 222 laps and his fastest lap of 6.101 on green
Durl in fourth with 221 laps and his fastest lap of 6.089 on orange
A great time was had by all. FCR Trucks are a keeper.
Next Truck race is the Turkey Trotter Truck Tempest taking place at Eddie’s on Sunday November 27th at 2 PM. That’s right, this coming Sunday! That’s how much everyone liked their truck racing.
Get your truck ready.
Don’t have an FCR car? Take any 4-½ inch chassis and stuff a sealed Deathstar into it with some 0.820 diameter rears and a truck body. We’ll let you run until you can get the proper pig sorted out.
