2011 Firecracker 400 at ESCW
Driving a clean and mostly trouble free race, Chris Chakires took a decisive win at this year’s Firecracker 400 on the Blue King at Eddie’s. Chris ran away from the rest of the field of 16D powered NASCAR bodied cars and never looked back. Chris’ car was significantly faster than any other vehicle in the group and there was just no way for us mere mortal racers to catch him. He also managed to avoid some of the excess carnage that took place in the first 2 heats that affected so many of the other racers cars (I personally was punted off track 3 times in these 2 heats)!
Mike Rocha drove hard and fast, building a substantial lead over the remaining racers, to take 2nd place.
Jeff L drove his way to a strong 3rd place, followed by Tom Joseph in 4th, then Randy Tragni and Greg Streeter.
This race was well attended with many spectators. Thanks to all the people who stopped by to turn marshal as well as Eddie and Janet.
