Final race of the 2011 FCR Championship at Eddie’s

Postby AptosC6 » Mon Dec 19, 2011 8:00 pm

Gary Hooks took a decisive win in the last race of the 2011 FCR Championship season against a large and noisy group of competitors at Eddie’s.
Tom Joseph came in 2nd in the race. 3rd place was taken by Randy Tragni.

Eight racers bumped and rubbed cars on the track for race 12 of the season. There was plenty of action, nerfing and hits to the wall. Sunday regular Eric was even hit by an airborne FCR car.
Gary cleaned the field’s clocks for a strong win with 236 laps and a fastest lap of 5.71 on green. Wow, that’s fast for one of these cars. Gary, being a true gentleman racer won using shear talent and clean driving. Way to go Gary!

Tom brought on a number of competitive laps (224 of them) to beat Randy to second place in the race by 1 lap! Tom did a fast lap of 5.98 on orange. Great job Tom. Randy clocked in 223 laps and a fast lap of 6.097 on green.
Rounding out the field were regulars Sam Rock in 4th (once again using the Tragni Tune Monte Carlo for 219 laps after his car failed early on), Wolf Immel (216 laps) and Uncle Gary Hoehn (213 laps), Durl (212 laps) and Antioch Dave (200 laps).

Thanks to Lisa Immel for running race command while Eddie and Janet Wong turn marshaled.
Next FCR Race is on Sunday, January 8th at Eddie’s. This will start the 2012 season!

Also run were FCR trucks on the Blue King. The trucks are a couple tenths slower and a bit more edgy to drive. What a blast.
Tom Joseph took first place with 228 laps and a fast 5.92 lap.
In second place was Randy with 225 laps and a fast lap of 6.089.
In third place with a great drive was Uncle Gary with 220 laps.
4th was taken by Durl, 5th by Antioch Dave, 6th by Sam Rock and 7th by David.

Points are awarded to the first six finishers:
10 points for first place, 8 points for second, 6 points for third, 4 points for fourth, 2 points for fifth, 1 points for sixth.

The final Championship points and positions:
1st Randy Tragni wins the championship with 80 (+6) points
