bury the hatchet

Postby topkat » Mon May 18, 2009 4:51 pm

in this day and economy all slot car shops need to be in survival mode. a little please and thank you and a dose of how can i help you can be of a major benifit. Gone are the days of the "you get what i give you " attitude from shops and builders. Remember shops need customers because customers have money. shops need this to survive. we as customers need to feel appreciated when we spend our money because we have choices as to where it goes. shops need to get back to catering to thier customers rather than the other way round. shop owners need to stop fighting over customers and banning those that have a difference of opinion. remember the customer is the key to a successful business .if you dont have customers, you dont have business

Hi Herman:

The truth is there never was a day of "you get what I give you" Successful businesses always provide what customers need or want.
The slot car business is an entertainment business, so raceways need to foster an atmosphere of entertainment to keep customers coming back.
Having said that, because racing is a competitive activity, there are those customers that get out of hand, and can change the atmosphere from enjoyment to confrontation.
Raceway owners can only ban those people from coming in and ruining the business they are trying to develop.
There is also the guys that sell their stuff out of their box at the raceway. This is probably not to as bad as it seems, but when the raceway is struggling, these activities further frustrates the raceway owner, and strong reactions are usually the result.

In any event... You are right, with no customers there is no business. Customers are key, the puzzle is how to interest them to come in, race and keep them coming back
