National FCR Series -- Anyone Interested?

Postby durl » Mon Oct 17, 2011 5:33 pm

Check this out: FCR National Championship Series

Dave in Antioch has started running this in his club track. I am wondering if this has any interest for any other racers in NorCal.

FCR is an inexpensive, close class of racing that is fun for the novice and the experienced racer.

Randy Tragni has been running a series for the past couple of years at Eddie's and they've been running it even longer at Fast Track in Rocklin. I can see a NorCal regional series with just these three tracks, but if Frank and Modesto and Carson City and Fresno wanted to get in on this, I think it'd be great, too.

This is a national championship series that you basically run at your home track and maybe the other tracks in your region. Entry fees are minimal, as are the prizes, so hopefully nobody gets too worked up over the "stakes", and we all have fun.

Your thoughts, folks?

Hi there,

I personally think it would be a great ideal if all the bay area tracks signs up for this series. I have a small club but my club members is a very loyal group, half of my racers are under 16 years old. These kids are having a lot of fun. These kids are our future in this hobby. The National Champion Series is a great place for the first timers but don’t get me wrong, the races are so close, even the veteran slot car races will have his hands full. For me this class brought me back to the beginning when I first started to run cars in Play Land as a kid back in 1969 up to the end of 1971/1972. And if it wasn’t for the older [adults] racers that helped me out I may have never stayed with it. These young racers are full of questions and want to learn everything about the hobby and I due spend time with them and show them how to take care of their car just like someone else did for me. Check it out gentlemen, keep our sport alive.

Thank you,
