Race 8 of the 2011 FCR Championship.

Postby AptosC6 » Tue Aug 23, 2011 8:12 pm

Race 8 of the 2011 FCR Championship.

There was a rowdy group of racers for round 8 of the 2011 FCR Championship at Eddie’s Slot Car World. A turn out of 6 racers competing for the FCR win and associated points. There is no finer sound than someone else’s car slamming the wall….

Taking his first win in FCR was Wolf followed closely by Tom Joseph and Randy (both on the same lap). Randy continues to lead the championship!

Wolf takes the win for 10 points driving a clean race and completed 228 laps.

In second place was Tom with 226 laps and 8 points for it.

In third place was Randy Tragni with 226 laps (+6 points) a few feet back from Tom.

Gary Klobas again takes 4th place with 217 laps for 4 points followed very closely by Jeff also with 217 laps. Of special note, Gary set fastest lap of the race with an incredible 5.50 set on purple.

Thanks to all the turn marshals and to Lisa for running the computer.

Points are awarded to the first six finishers:
10 points for first place, 8 points for second, 6 points for third, 4 points for fourth, 2 points for fifth, 1 points for sixth.

The Championship so far:
Randy Tragni stays ahead of the pack with 50 (+6) points.
Tom Joseph with 29 points (+8)
Racer X (aka Calvin) with 22 points (+8)
Sam Rock with 20 points (+10)
Chris Chakires with 20 points (no change).
Gary Klobas with 23 points (+4)
Uncle Gary with 19 points (no change)
Captain Ernie with 16 points (no change)
Wolf with 10 points (+10)
Gary Hooks with 10 points (no change)
Randy Keil with 8 points (no change)
Durl with 8 points (+2)
Craig On with 2 points (no change)
Jeff with 2 points (+2)
Richard with 2 points (no change)
Floyd with 1 point (+1)

Next Race is, Sept 18th at Eddie’s. Come race with us!

There was also a “Hawk/Falcon” LMP race held on the Blue King. The win was taken by Tom Joseph followed by Jeff and Randy.

Thanks for the report, Randy. I'm always sad when I have to miss an FCR race. :(

Congrats to WOlf. I'm glad to see him joining the carnage. Too bad Lisa didn't race, too.

Was Floyd the sixth racer?

Of course the REAL question is: Have you pretty much got the championship sewn up?

Durl,
With 4 races to go I'll let you do the math.... no victory yet. Needless to say I'll be there defending my lead in the Championship to the end. Mt fear is Sam or Tom getting too serious about this.
See you in September???????
